Your estimated State Pension age
How this State Pension Age Calculator works
The calculator applies the UK timetable currently set in legislation. State Pension age is 66 for people born from 6 October 1954 to 5 April 1960, then rises gradually from 66 to 67 for births from 6 April 1960 to 5 March 1961. It is 67 for births from 6 March 1961 to 5 April 1977. The legislated rise from 67 to 68 is phased in for births from 6 April 1977 to 5 April 1978.
For the official timetable and important date-band notes, see the GOV.UK State Pension age timetable. Future governments can review the timetable, so treat the result as an estimate and recheck before making a major retirement decision.

Frequently asked questions
What is the UK State Pension age?
It depends on your date of birth. The current legislated timetable moves from age 66 to 67 and later from 67 to 68 in phased date bands.
Is State Pension age the same for men and women?
For the modern birth-date bands covered here, the timetable is the same. Earlier historical bands included different transition rules, so older dates should be checked through the official service.
Can the State Pension age change?
Yes. The government reviews State Pension age periodically, and future legislation can amend the timetable.
Can I keep working after State Pension age?
Yes. Reaching State Pension age does not normally require you to stop working, and you may choose when to claim.
Does this calculator show how much pension I will get?
No. It estimates the age and date only. Your payment depends on factors including your National Insurance record.
